BEHIND MASTERING THE MISTS OF YOSHIO MARKINO

This blog was created as a subproject of the site Yoshio Markino: A Japanese Artist in London. Please visit the site for more information about Yoshio Markino and how the overall project was built.

All of the paintings (besides Markino's) and text on this site were created by Kaylen Michaelis, an undergraduate at the University of Nebraska, Lincoln. She started painting in high school, where she gained a rudimentary knowledge on how to paint with watercolors, acrylics, and oils. Since her high school days, she has not had much time (or maybe more aptly the motivation) to paint, so she was excited about utilizing her skills as a way to do scholarly work on Yoshio Markino. Hopefully, this will spark others who have not painted in a while or maybe never have to get out their brushes too!
